Servings: 2.5 cups
- 3 ½ cups filtered water
- 1 cup organic dried elderberries
- 2 organic cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and chopped into smaller pieces
- ½ cup frozen or fresh organic blueberries
- 1-2 tablespoons raw honey You can omit this if you're looking for sugar-free
Throw all of the ingredients into a pot on the stove over high heat. Bring to a boil.
Once boiling, turn the heat to low and allow the berries to simmer for 15 minutes uncovered.
Remove the pot from the heat and allow it to cool for about 30 minutes.
Transfer and strain the mixture into a large mason jar.
Add in the honey. Add the lid and give it all a good shake.
Allow the liquid to come to room temperature.
Store it in the fridge.
This can last in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
I like to take one tablespoon a day in the morning.
This should be okay for ages 5 and older. I like to add it to our morning smoothie.
