This creamy tahini dressing is packed with flavor and a hint of sweetness and spice. Toss this vegan dressing into any salad to take your salad from boring to delicious. It’s easy to make with only 6 ingredients and made in one bowl.
What is Lemon Tahini Vinaigrette?
It’s a creamy dressing with tahini as the key ingredient and has a combination of sweetness from maple syrup and spice from garlic and Dijon mustard. Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds and is a staple in the Mediterranean diet. All of the ingredients come together perfectly for a flavorful lemon tahini dressing.
Why You Will Love This Dressing

What To Pair With This Lemon Tahini Vinaigrette
Mediterranean 3-Bean Salad: Any salad with a slight Mediterranean vibe will pair nicely with this dressing. From cous cous to cucumber and tomato, to a simple kale salad, add this to any raw veggie. A 3-bean Mediterranean Salad is one of my favorite salads thanks to the incredible dressing.
Veggies and dip: Grab a few bell pepper and cucumber slices and dip them into this dressing for a delightful and healthy snack. It’s quite honestly one of my favorite ways to enjoy raw veggies. A dipping sauce is a win-win for my kids, too.
Quinoa buddha bowl: This tahini sauce is perfect for a veggie power bowl. From quinoa to raw and cooked veggies, and tofu, this will work nicely.
What Are The Ingredients?
Tahini: Find yourself a jar of high-quality brand of tahini. I typically find mine from Trader Joe’s, however you can find it at any local grocery store. It’s never easy to find the aisle it’s on though, so consider warned. LOL.
Lemon juice: Grab a lemon and squeeze half of it into the mason jar. This fresh juice is what brings a fresh flavor to this tahini lemon vinaigrette that you shouldn’t skip.
Apple cider vinegar: There are wonderful health benefits from eating apple cider vinegar. However, feel free to use red wine vinegar if needed. This ingredient brings a tangy vibe to the dressing.
Maple syrup: As always, pure maple syrup is my sweetener of choice 99 percent of the time. That’s because it is not processed and has nutritional benefits, unlike white cane sugar.
Dijon: Please do not replace this with traditional yellow mustard because the flavors are very different. You’ll only use a small amount of this mustard that will provide a small spice flavor.
Garlic: Fresh minced garlic belongs in dressing and just about anywhere, in my opinion. LOL. One clove will do for this flavorful dressing. Make sure to purchase garlic in organic varieties.
Salt and pepper: Finish off the tahini lemon vinaigrette by sprinkling a dash of salt and pepper. Go until you are satisfied.
Water: This will help thin out the thick dressing to the desired consistency. Tahini is a thick paste that must be thinned out and watered down. This will also help the flavor and texture of the dressing.
The Instructions
Step one: Place all of the ingredients, except water, into a small to medium bowl, a stir it with a small whisk until everything is incorporated.
Step two: Add filtered water, a tablespoon or two at a time while whisking. Add as much water as you need until it turns from a smooth paste to a thinner creamy texture or until you are happy with the consistency.
Step three: Pour it over your favorite salad and toss it up. Enjoy!
How To Store This Vinaigrette
Place it in an airtight container and in the fridge for up to 5 days. The dressing may thicken in the fridge. Simply remove it from the fridge an hour before eating it, add a little water, and give it a good stir as needed.
Tips + Modificaitons
Make sure to use a high-quality jar of tahini for this vinaigrette. It really does make a difference.
I do not suggest replacing or eliminating any of the ingredients except the vinegar. You can certainly use red wine vinegar if needed.
